Friday nibbles!
Stuck at home and want to jazz up your Friday evening? Why not kick-off the weekend with ‘Friday nibbles’. Grab a stall, share a drink (we've got some fab non alcoholic combo ideas coming up for you next week!), and pop some nibbles in to bowls tapas stylee. It’s a great way to introduce kids to knew food in a relaxed way, and for you all to have some catch up time to start the weekend.
Top tips:
Ensure you have a good balance of healthy as well as treat based stuff in your nibbles - it's not a birthday buffet!
You don't have to make everything from scratch, simply pop together some different flavours and fresh ingredients, sit back and enjoy.
Friday nibbles ideas:
Bread sticks
Homemade hummus (see our simple hummus recipe here)
Yoghurt dip - simply mix greek yoghurt with a large spoonful of mint jelly.
Chopped cherry tomatoes with pitted green olives (by in a jar in brine, they're soooo much cheaper and kids tend to prefer them)
Homemade popcorn with a little butter and some cinnamon powder and icing sugar
Homemade tortillas (just cut up a wrap and pop in the oven for 6 minutes at 180c)
Boiled quails eggs (sounds very 'heard in Waitrose' but they're a great snack and the kids enjoy helping to peel them!)
Chopped up mango with fresh lime juice squeezed on
