Mulled Cider

This has been a popular one for the grown ups in our adult and child Christmas classes this year, so we thought we'd share our recipe for homemade Mulled Cider. If you'd like to make a non-alcoholic version, then simply replace the cider with additional apple juice.

Ingredients:

1 litre dry cider

Half litre apple juice

1 large cinnamon stick

6 slices of fresh ginger

Half teaspoon ground ALLSPICE

1 satsuma

5 whole cloves

Instructions:

1. Add the cider, apple juice, cinnamon, ginger and ALLSPICE to a large saucepan

2. Stud the satsuma with the cloves, then cut the satsuma in half lengthways - add to the pan

3. Give everything a good stir

4. Place on a high heat until it comes to a boil

5. As soon as the mix is boiling, turn down to a low simmer and leave to cook for 30 minutes

6. Add in the honey, giving a final stir, then serve in mugs and enjoy :)
