  • Gift Vouchers carry an expiry date which will be specified on your voucher.

  • Gift Vouchers can not transferred for cash or any monetary equivalent. They can be used by someone other than the person who was the original recipient.

  • To book a course using a Gift Voucher, you are required to telephone The Cooking Shed on 07525 763198.

  • After making a booking using a Gift Voucher, the actual voucher must be returned to The Cookery School within one week of making the booking. • Once issued, Gift Vouchers are your responsibility. They are as valuable as book tokens.

  • If a Gift Voucher is lost by you, it cannot be replaced.

  • We cannot redeem lost Gift Vouchers.

Class cancellations:

  • In booking a cookery class at The Cooking Shed, you are booking for a class at the time and date specified and, once booked, you are not able to change the date and time of this course unless we receive notice in writing four weeks prior to the date of your class.

  • All adult classes are non-refundable.

  • If you find you are unable to attend a class, you are welcome to send someone in your place, even at very short notice. However, you must notify us in advance if you wish to do this so that we can make any necessary amendments and will require advance notice of any allergies or special dietary requirements or need for access.

  • If you book onto a course using a Gift Voucher, you will be required to provide the gift voucher reference number at point of booking, and you will be requested to return the Voucher to The Cooking Shed within one week of the booking being made. Failure to do so will result in your booking being cancelled should we not be able to contact you, or monetary payment being requested to secure your course.

  • In the event of a course being cancelled by The Cooking Shed, you will receive a full refund or a space on another course (whichever you prefer).

  • We reserve the right to change courses, dates and times.

  • COVID RELATED GOVERNMENT LOCKDOWNS: Should an area or national lockdown occur, and the government inform us that we are unable to run in-person classes for a period of time, then we will be in touch to offer you the options to either re-schedule your class to a date when we can run them in-person again, or for your class to be run as an online Zoom session with ingredients belng delivered to attendees within a 2 mile radius of The Cooking Shed.

Private dining and events:

  • In booking a private dining experience or event at The Cooking Shed (or in conjunction with The Cooking Shed and a third party venue), you are booking for the time and date specified on your booking. Once booked, you are not able to change the date and time of attendance unless we receive notice in writing at least four weeks prior to the event date.

  • An administration fee of £5 will be charged to change all bookings if notification is received four weeks prior to the date of your event.

  • All events and bookings are non-refundable unless notification is received at least 4 weeks prior to the event.

  • If you find you are unable to attend an event, you are welcome to send someone in your place, even at very short notice. However, you must notify us in advance if you wish to do this so that we can make any necessary amendments to allow for dietary requirements, and will require advance notice of any allergies or special dietary requirements or need for access.

  • Unless specified, cookery lesson gift vouchers for The Cooking Shed can not be used against private dining events.

  • We reserve the right to change the content on any menu without prior notification or consultation - so long as it is in keep with the originally agreed menu theme or event format (this is to allow for seasonality of ingredients, and to ensure the freshness and provenance of the food supplied). An example might be - if no octopus is available, squid would be used in its place.

  • In the event of an event being cancelled by The Cooking Shed, you will receive a full refund or a space on another event (whichever you prefer).

  • The Cooking Shed reserves the right to change the venue of an event, should there be an unavoidable reason for the venue no longer being available (examples include loss of power, flooding, or other unavoidable and unexpected situations) - the alternative venue would be of a similar standard, and you would be consulted in the unlikely event of this occurring to ensure you are happy with the alternative arrangements proposed.

  • Food supplied for events will often be prepared within the venue's home kitchen environment - therefore we cannot guarantee a totally allergy free environment (nuts, flour, dairy etc. may have been prepared in these kitchens previously, even if they are not going to be included within your dish). Please notify The Cooking Shed of any allergies of intolerances at the time of booking so that this can be discussed.

Food allergies and intolerances

At The Cooking Shed, we are always happy to adapt our recipes to allow for different food allergies or intolerances so long as you let us know in advance of attending a lesson or dining experience, however we do have to notify you that nuts, fish flour, and other potentially reactive ingredients are frequently used in our cooking environments so we cannot guarantee that traces won't be found.
